About Rhythmix tap team

Rhythmix tap team is in its first year. The goal is to find a group of 6 dancers age 4 - 6 who will stay together for several years learning, performing, and competing together. Dancing as a team year after year will develop a unified group of exceptional dancers.

Rhythmix provides quality, technical tap dance instruction in a positive, age-appropriate learning environment. We believe all talent and potential are divinely given gifts and strive to develop these gifts through teaching, performing, and competing.

Rhythmix encourages children to reach their full potential as dancers and performers. Staying together as a team will develop a high level of trust and confidence in other teammates. Dancers will build strong friendships who encourage and support one another. This creates a positive environment to learn and grow.

This group of young dancers are taught beginning tap skills and basic pre-ballet skills with a hands-on approach. Rhythm, counting beats in music, and musicality will be a part of the classes. A high level of correction, positivity, and encouragement will build self-esteem and confidence. As a result, dancers will pick up and memorize tap skills at a faster speed.

Each year, dancers learn one group tap routine and organize one group improvisation circle to perform at one or more of the following: nursing homes, the National Tap Dance Day event, annual showcase, and competitions. Dancers will receive notice of performances and competitions as soon as they are made available.

Age-appropriate music and costumes are chosen for the group. No current pop songs with adult themes are used. No bra tops or skimpy costumes are worn. Dancers will understand their music lyrics and feel fabulous in their costumes. Parents/Guardians will love them, too.

Dancers are required to purchase specific shoes and uniforms before the first day of class. Wearing uniforms promotes a sense of belonging to a group. There will be no competition among teammates or feelings of inadequacy when everyone is dressed the same. Please check the uniform policy sheet for a description of items.

Classes are held twice a week at the

Ms. Susan is looking forward to starting the Rhythmix tap team. This has been her dream for several years. She believes that young dancers who start together as a group and continue together as a group year after year will grow and develop into more confident and skilled dancers vs. those in random classes.
